Yesterday Livi had a great sleep-in and then we headed off with Lydia to ride the Bart (ie. the subway line) to the Mission district. This district is known for its many murals and the "Mission" itself - the oldest building in San Francisco (1700s). It is a very Mexican area with lots of little restaurants, pawn shops, salsa music, book stores and markets.
Oh - and Palm trees! It makes it seem so much more like California with the Palm trees. Livi loves learning her trees and this is definitely a new one for her.
After a morning in the Mission District, we headed home to catch up with our men for lunch. Good ol' Subway on the very nice grass of a very nice park with a very nice no-smoking law.
Supper was at a Mexican restaurant that was playing an old silent (at least to us) Mexican movie called "Santos" I think. Matt got quite into it and wanted to stay to see how it ended.... would the Blob (obviously a group of people under a brown sheet) devour another victim who just can't seem to get away... would the masked man with a red cape, tights and no shirt capture all of the bad guys?? I'm telling you, you've really got to see this one.
We ended our day with a sleeping babe and a lively game of Trains (Europe) as a foursome... choo choo!
